Hanadie, a senior in Illinois, has always wanted to make a difference in the world.
She participated in a wide variety of activities before discovering the SAVE Promise Club, where she and other members created the first Say Something Youth Summit in 2019 for communities surrounding their high school. Hanadie said she’s learned a great deal from the program, not only more about herself but it’s also made her more aware of what’s going on around her and what she can do to help people who are in crisis.
“It’s also helped me to be more open and speak about what I believe in,” she said. “I’ve put my mind, body, and soul into this work. It’s become a part of me.”

As a member of the National Youth Advisory Board, Hanadie wants to help bring the message of Say Something and other Sandy Hook Promise programs to more communities. She hopes that by spreading the message more people can share in the positive impacts.
“We only have to start with one push and keep it rolling,” she said. “I believe there are so many other people out there who could benefit from these programs.”
