Start With Hello Award

Apply for the Start with Hello Week Award

Schools and community-based organizations participating in Start With Hello Week are eligible to apply for the Start With Hello Week Award. This award honors outstanding student leadership and empathy-building activities that carry forward the spirit of Start with Hello Week throughout the school year. 

It’s easy to apply! Submit a 2–3 minute video or slideshow that celebrates your Start With Hello Week activities!

Award Application Details

  • Who can apply?
    Students, teachers, and educators in schools or organizations serving grades K – 12.
  • When should I apply?
    Nominations are open from 9/23 – 10/21.
  • When will I find out who won?
    Winners will be announced by 11/18/2022.
  • How many winners will there be?
    There will be three winners
  • Prizes
    1st prize: $1,000 stipend
    2nd prize: $750 stipend
    3rd prize: $500 stipend

    All three winners will be featured nationally on Sandy Hook Promise’s website and social media
