Financial reports and tax-deductible status

* In fiscal year 2023, 88.3% of all expenses, including donated property & services, went to program services. Without donated property & services, program services would be 70.1% of all expenses.

With an average of 12 children dying from gun violence daily, we are grateful for supporters like you who are helping prevent the next tragedy. Sandy Hook Promise Foundation proudly works to ensure that your donations are used effectively and efficiently. Independently audited financial statements, available for download, demonstrate our commitment.

Sandy Hook Promise values your rights as a donor and is proud to be a transparent charity. That’s why we make our financial statements, reports and annual 990s available for your review online.

We also invite you to review our Annual Impact Report: Keeping Our Promise. You may download and print the full report or explore the interactive digital report.

How are donations used?

With generous donations from people like you, we provide gun violence prevention and school safety programs. Through our no-cost Know the Signs programs, we’ve trained more than 18 million students and educators to recognize the warning signs of gun violence – and we’ve helped avert multiple school shooting threats, teen suicides, and countless other acts of violence. A portion of funding also keeps the lights on: pays our staff, spreads our message and raises funds to sustain our mission. See our impact.
