Sandy Hook Promise is led by several family members whose loved ones were lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School and a talented staff of seasoned professionals.

Help make school safer for children

Sandy Hook Promise is a national leader in the movement to reduce gun violence and make schools safer for our children.

With a staff of more than 100 people working across America, our dedicated staff and volunteers have enabled more than 22 million people to participate in our life-saving “Know the Signs” programs. School shooting plots have been averted, along with teen suicides and countless other acts of violence.

The mission of Sandy Hook Promise is to educate and empower youth and adults to prevent violence in schools, homes, and communities. We provide careers in the gun reform movement and not-for-profit jobs of all kinds.

Professional Volunteers

Volunteers, who we call Promise Leaders, are at the heart of our organization, with more than 21,000 active participants nationwide. If you’re interested in general volunteering, sign up here. We also have opportunities for retirees, recent grads and others who would like to volunteer their skills on an ongoing or project basis.
