How Promise Leaders Make a Difference
Promise Leaders take action in four focus areas: Building Awareness, Program Promotion, Advocacy, and Fundraising to support Sandy Hook Promise’s work and mission.
Build Awareness
Grow awareness of our mission and the impact of our Know the Signs programs.
Program Promote
Introduce our Know the Signs programs to schools and youth serving organizations.
Advocate
Use your voice to encourage sensible violence prevention and school safety policies.
Fundraise
Raise money to bring violence prevention programs into more schools.
Volunteer Training and Support
After signing up to be a Promise Leader, new volunteers are emailed the Getting Started orientation video. Watching the video is required to complete volunteer onboarding. Our Promise Leader team is available to answer questions, offer resources, and give guidance to support you in your efforts. Promise Leaders can also join the private Facebook group to connect with other volunteers, learn about volunteer opportunities, and share their actions.
