Emerging Leaders Council

The Sandy Hook Promise Emerging Leaders Council (ELC) is a subcommittee of the organization’s Leadership Council that serves as a fundraising vehicle and engagement method for young professionals passionate about gun violence prevention. Through personal contributions, fundraising events, and social media, the ELC generates revenue for Sandy Hook Promise’s programmatic budget and elevates its profile among young professionals within their personal and professional networks.

The ELC focuses on the following pillars, and members are encouraged to dedicate their time to one these efforts:

Events & Fundraising

• Planning and executing in-person and virtual fundraising opportunities

Mission Awareness & Recruitment

• Expanding the ELC’s national footprint and amplifying SHP’s mission through social media and other communication channels
• Recruiting new members in line with SHP’s REDI initiative of equitable practices

Programming & Policy Engagement

• Furthering state and federal policy objectives through grassroots activism
• Planning and executing virtual training opportunities including SHP’s lifesaving Know the Signs curriculum
