Co-creating local solutions to adapt, expand, and sustain youth violence prevention in diverse communities.
Sandy Hook Promise is launching a series of place-based learning projects to deepen our understanding of the youth, educators, and Trusted Adults we serve. These projects aim to strengthen relationships, build community knowledge, and tailor our approach to meet the diverse and evolving needs of communities across the country. By working closely with local partners, these efforts will expand our reach beyond traditional K-12 setting and enhance the relevance and effectiveness of our programs.
At the heart of this work is the continued evolution of Know the Signs – Sandy Hook Promise’s suite of evidence-informed violence prevention programs. Developed in collaboration with experts in education, child psychology, and threat assessment, Know the Signs empowers youth and adults to recognize and intervene when someone is at risk of harming themselves or others. Through intentional research, community engagement, and localized adaptation, we are committed to ensuring these programs are impactful, sustainable, and responsive to the unique contexts in which they are delivered.
There is no one-size fits-all solution to preventing school shooting, youth violence, and self-harm. That is why Sandy Hook Promise is partnering with community experts, educators, and organizations in culturally and geographically diverse settings to co-create solutions that reflect local realities and maximize safety and well-being for all.
