Donor Advised Funds

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) lets eligible donors above the age of 70 1/2 make a charitable gift directly from an IRA to a qualified nonprofit. Check with your IRA administrator today to see if you’re eligible to make a QCD. It just takes a few moments and your IRA administrator sends your generous gift directly to the Sandy Hook Promise Foundation.

Getting Started:

• Contact your IRA custodian or administrator. Some examples include Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab and others. Then request a Qualified Charitable Distribution. Our EIN is 46-1657101.
• Ask your administrator to issue the check payable to Sandy Hook Promise Foundation.
• Please also ask your administrator to include the following in the check memo or enclosure letter if possible: Your full name, mailing address, email and phone number as well as “QCD” or “Qualified Charitable Distribution”.
• Have your administrator mail the check to:
