Reduce social isolation to build safer and stronger school communities.

Social isolation -- lacking a sense of social belonging and quality peer relationships -- is at epidemic levels among young people. According to the Centers for Disease Control Youth Risk Behavior Survey1, 45% of students did not feel close to people at school. In extreme cases, social isolation and social rejection can contribute to depression, self-harm, or acts of violence.
A strong sense of community and connection reduces social isolation, supports students’ emotional well-being, and improves school safety. We can empower all young people to create welcoming school climates by learning and practicing empathy, understanding the importance of belonging, and building peer connections.
These evidence-informed, developmentally appropriate programs help create a climate of kindness and belonging for elementary, middle, and high school students.
A safe and supportive school climate shouldn’t come down to dollars and cents. That’s why many of our programs are donor-funded and free to schools.
