Know the Signs

Know the Signs

Sandy Hook Promise programs teach the warning signs of violence and self-harm. In four out of five school shootings, the attacker told people of their plans ahead of time. We can prevent these tragic outcomes by teaching students to:

  1. Know the Signs: Learn about the different types of warning signs of violence and how to spot them, especially on social media.
  2. Act Immediately, Take it Seriously: Understand how to respond to a concern and be an Upstander.
  3. "Say Something”: Tell a Trusted Adult or make an anonymous report.
