Empowering young people to take action in their schools and communities.
Young people have experiences and perspectives that can’t be ignored. They want their schools to be welcoming and supportive. Many are concerned with violence, bullying, depression, anxiety, and hopelessness they’ve experienced or witnessed. Many see peers who are struggling — or they are struggling themselves. Age should never be a barrier to making a difference. That’s why Sandy Hook Promise works to create and empower young leaders to work for positive change through a range of youth-led initiatives.

“I’ve learned so much about myself in the past two years through this incredible organization. I now have hope for the future because I’ve seen how we can make a genuine difference at my school. SAVE is an outlet for people like me to express our passions and create a supportive, accepting community that feels like home.”
– Arianna, Youth Advisory Board Member, MA

“Youth will eventually become the adults that will lead the way on school safety and empower the new generation of youth voices. So, I think that it’s important that youth start now, so that when we are adults, we can continue this momentum.”
– Evelyn, Youth Advisory Board Member, WI
