Promise 2 Youth Summit
April 21, 2018 — Raleigh, NC
Sandy Hook Promise is excited to continue the annual tradition of the SAVE Youth Summit for SAVE Promise Clubs across the country! This annual gathering of student leaders, advisors and advocates showcases successful practices in preventing violence and training participants in effective ways to make their schools and communities safer.
It is a time for youth voices to be heard in workshops, peer-to-peer presentations, and activities that encourage, educate, engage, and empower youth with violence prevention strategies. Please join us for motivating workshops, outstanding speakers, national awareness efforts and special presentations.
Nicole Hockley, mother of Dylan Hockley, killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School, is Managing Director of Sandy Hook Promise (SHP), a national gun violence prevention non-profit that delivers prevention programs to schools around the country, free of cost. Nicole joined SHP in January of 2013, just weeks after the tragedy. She has given multiple TEDx talks on gun safety and knowing the signs of someone who may be in crisis, or planning violence toward themselves or others, as well as dozens of speaking engagements and trainings at schools around the country. She works to ensure that no other parents will have to endure the pain of losing a child to preventable gun violence.
